Section 3 - Hazards Identification

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW

Appearance: yellow orange crystalline powder.
Danger! Risk of explosion by shock, friction, fire or other sources of ignition. Harmful if inhaled or swallowed. Causes eye, skin, and respiratory tract irritation. The toxicological properties of this material have not been fully investigated.
Target Organs: Respiratory system, eyes, skin.

Potential Health Effects
Eye: Causes eye irritation.
Skin: Causes skin irritation. May be harmful if absorbed through the skin.
Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed. May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Inhalation: Causes respiratory tract irritation. Harmful if inhaled.
Chronic: Effects may be delayed.

Section 4 - First Aid Measures

Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.
Skin: Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid. Do NOT induce vomiting. If conscious and alert, rinse mouth and drink 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Inhalation: Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
Notes to Physician: Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Section 5 - Fire Fighting Measures

General Information: As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Exposure to heat may promote violent decomposition. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. This material is an explosion hazard when exposed to heat, mechanical shock, or friction. Containers may explode in the heat of a fire.
Extinguishing Media: Contact professional fire-fighters immediately. Use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or appropriate foam.
Flash Point: Not applicable.
Autoignition Temperature: Not applicable.
Explosion Limits, Lower:Not available.
Upper: Not available.
NFPA Rating: (estimated) Health: 2; Flammability: 0; Instability: 3

Section 6 - Accidental Release Measures

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks: Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective Equipment section. Sweep up, then place into a suitable container for disposal. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Provide ventilation.

Section 7 - Handling and Storage

Handling: Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use with adequate ventilation. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Material is heat, shock and/or friction sensitive. Use care in handling and storage. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid ingestion and inhalation.
Storage: Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Store in a tightly closed container. Keep refrigerated. (Store below 4°C/39°F.) Stainless steel should be avoided due to the potential for stress-corrosion cracking.

Section 8 - Exposure Controls, Personal Protection

Engineering Controls: Use explosion-proof ventilation equipment. Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash facility and a safety shower.
